CHEF JORDAN EBACK

Chef Jordan Eback has been working in the Industry since 15 years of age. From humble beginnings, he grew up in Erie, PA with his five siblings. Being the third of six kids he began discovering his cooking talents at a young age, cooking for his younger siblings and eventually the whole family. Noticing how food could bring large amounts of family members together at holiday functions Chef Jordan realized the power of food magic and would then strive to become a Culinary Wizard. Early influences like The Cajun Chef / Julia Child and later Emeril Lagasse / Anthony Bourdain, he began his journey in a deli.

Jordan’s education in the restaurant business started at Mercyhurst University Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management program and continued at Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts where he graduated with President’s list accolations. From there he worked his way up the corporate ladder in Pittsburgh, PA from hotels like Wydham, various casual high volume establishments, most notably Bravo! Italian Kitchen (where he won the Top Chef Competition in 2008), and up to and including fine dining at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto. Within his embodiment of work he opened an Irish Pub (Molly Brannigan’s), brought a new restaurant concept to life (Buford’s Kitchen), and was the opening chef, helping to set in motion a now restaurant chain in Erie (U Pick 6). The most rewarding of all these operations for him was Community Kitchen Pittsburgh.

This is not the first charitable event for Chef. Jordan has participated in the Autism Speaks as a guest chef cooking a dish inspired by a paired individual and their tastes to raise funds for autism awareness. He rode 60 miles in 2018 and 80 miles in 2019, on his bicycle, for the 3,2,1 Ride to raise funds for cancer research. While employed as the Executive Chef at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto he obtained seafood sustainability accreditation for the Monterey Bay aquarium (no affiliation to the restaurant). As the Culinary Director at Community Kitchen Pittsburgh he designed their current kitchen, taught life skills to those with employment barriers that provided freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced meals for inner city school students.

Chef Jordan is currently a Culinary Consultant, working throughout the US to share his culinary wizardry and wisdom of his craft as well as Chef Coaching, up and coming chefs through the mental health challenges of the industry.

When not cooking Jordan is woodworking, home renovating, or out on his bike fulfilling his love for creativity and adventure.
