CHEF KESHA HARRIS

The foundation for Chef Kesha’s passion for food, started when she was just 12 years old. Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, her Grandmother had a huge influence on the path she would take later in life. In those days, most people still grew their own food, so it was no surprise that Kesha got her start picking fresh fruits & vegetables from her Grandmother’s garden. These memories would never evade her, as she went on in life.

Chef Kesha’s path into the food industry would stem from her early years, but started with a career in IT, which is probably more unorthodox than most! Upon graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, from NC A&T State University, she started working for a Fortune 100 company, as a Software Programmer in Pennsylvania, then later relocated to Virginia. A few years later, she earned a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering from Penn State. During her 21-year career, Chef Kesha took part in various leadership programs, held various management roles, and received many awards for her contributions to the industry.

However, those memories and her passion for food and cooking would resurface, after a series of life changing events. In 2017, Kesha left the IT field to start her catering business and then enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, NY. While attending the CIA, Chef Kesha worked in various restaurants and completed her externship at the 3-Michelin Star ‘The Inn At Little Washington’.

It was there that Kesha developed more of an appreciation for the art of plating and a love for French technique. Upon graduating with honors, with a degree in the Culinary Arts, Chef Kesha relocated back to Virginia to grow and expand her catering business. In 2023, Chef Kesha served as the In-House Chef at Briede Family Vineyards in Winchester, VA.
